ASIC Engineer Intern - Infra Silicon Enablement

Role overview

Meta is seeking an ASIC Engineering Intern to join its Release to Production Engineering team. The Infra Silicon Enablement team develops and supports ASIC solutions for Meta data center applications. The internship lasts 12–16 weeks.

What you'll do

• Contribute across the silicon lifecycle, from architecture and design inputs through pre-silicon validation, bring-up, characterization and fleet deployment.
• Develop validation and automation tools for silicon diagnostics, performance analysis, debugging and productization.
• Use production system needs to improve validation and inform future architecture and design.
• Investigate, resolve and help remediate silicon issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Coursework in computer architecture and/or electrical engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging and analyzing silicon products.
• Experience with Linux and programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
• Must have and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
• Must intend to return to a degree programme after the internship.

Nice to have

• Pursuing a master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• ASIC design, development or validation experience, including silicon bring-up, validation, emulation or characterization.
• Experience with data center silicon applications such as video, AI/ML or networking.
• Familiarity with PCIe, networking, flash, memory, CPU, GPU, DRAM, embedded systems or bus protocols such as I2C, SPI and USB.
• Understanding of software, firmware, hardware or ASIC development cycles.
